If the drawn card matches the rank of the flipped over tombstone, the player captures both cards and places them in front of them. If the drawn card does not match the rank of the tombstone, the player simply passes their turn.

The following player then flips over their top card and plays as normal. If a player captures all four of their cards (their tombstone plus three more), they win the game. If at any time all players pass their turn, the current player keeps their cards and play passes to the left.

Some things to keep in mind when playing Tombstone:

1) You can only capture a card if it matches the rank of your tombstone-aces are high or low, depending on what suits your game.

2) A player cannot capture two cards with one play-the first card played must match the rank of the tombstone for it to be captured.

3) A player can only have four cards in front of them at any given time-if they capture a fifth card, they must place it face down in front of them and take another turn.

4) The winner is the first player to capture all four of their cards or the player with the most cards when time runs out.

Tombstone R.I.P: saddle up and get ready for one heck of a ride!

What is Tombstone?

Developed by Upper Deck, Tombstone is a board game that takes inspiration from the classic Western film of the same name. The game pits 2-6 players against each other in a race to be the first to collect 6 treasure tokens. Along the way, you'll have to battle it out with your opponents, using guns, fists and even horses to take them down!

The game is set over 3 rounds, each of which sees players taking turns to either move their character or take an action. Characters can move around the various locations on the board, or they can try and take down an opponent. To do this, you'll need to roll dice and hope for the best – higher numbers mean you're more likely to hit your target, but you can also get unlucky and end up taking damage yourself.

Combat is brutal, and if you're not careful you can easily end up dead. However, if you're lucky enough to take someone down, you'll earn a treasure token as well as some "respect points". These points are important, as they determine who wins the game. The player with the most respect points at the end of round 3 is declared the winner!

How do I play?

Tombstone is a fairly complex game, so we won't be able to give a full overview here. However, we'll give you a basic idea of how it works. First of all, each player selects one of six character cards – these cards represent famous Wild West icons such as Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp. Players then place their character on startup location on the board.

There are three rounds in total, and each round consists of four phases: Movement, Action 1st Half (optional), Action 2nd Half (mandatory) and End of Round. During the Movement phase players take it in turns to move their character around the board – moving between different locations or attacking opponents as they see fit. They can also use this phase to heal themselves if they've taken damage during previous turns.

The Action 1st Half phase is optional – if players choose to skip this phase then they automatically go straight into Action 2nd Half. During this phase players can attack opponents as normal, but they can also perform other actions such as stealing treasure or picking locks. The Action 2nd Half phase is mandatory however – during this phase all players must take an action before moving on to the next round. This might include attacking opponents or trying to gain control of different areas on the board.
